Dear family & friends,
Chuck & I don’t have time to make phone calls to update everyone. We’ve tried to put updates on facebook but know many of you are not on there so here’s where we are in regard to bringing Rose home…
It was not an easy task to coordinate Rose’s journey from Ft. Liberte to Port au Prince but she arrived there Friday and is being cared for in a safe place called Greater Works for Girls. There are 5 other girls there who qualify for humanitarian parole like Rose. There are 2 other sets of parents (1 set adopting 2 girls and then 1 other set adopting 3, God bless them!) that are coordinating with Chuck & I on getting them to the embassy today. We were on a conference call last night and people began working on coordinating efforts late into the night. This will be no easy task and many things have to fall in place prior showing up at the embassy. We were told it is complete chaos at the embassy but we have found an American in Port-au-Prince willing to assist getting them pushed through. If the right things can happen, they plan to transport them to the embassy at 10:00 a.m. and do whatever they have to do to get these 6 girls processed. There are many other parents in other groups coordinating efforts for their children to join ours and push through today as well. Our case worker said this will be the hard part and if by miracle they get processed, she will arrange their airlift which she says is the easy part. Once she arranges that we will be called and instructed where to fly, most likely to an airport in Florida. It could be a military airlift, it could be anything, we don’t know.
Sooooooo… with all that said we covet your prayers for God’s divine intervention in making a way to get all these children safely to families waiting for them. Our family began this journey with God and we completely turn this over to Him.
In His Love,
Donna Wilkers
