Dear friends,
You can feel proud knowing that we consider your donations as compassionate and generous response which is providing services to the victims of the earthquake of Jan 12. Through the assitance of friends like you, we are able to be of help to a large number of the survivors who are still arriving daily in Fort Liberte. At the arrival of the first avalanche of refugees, our church supervisors had explored ways to help, including food, water, medicines, money, spiritual comfort, bringing back of the injured and traumatized people, etc. In an effort to identify the victims, the church supervisors had registered more than 500 needy refugees. P.A.M., an organization aiming at feeding the school children, has used our list, as well as that of the catholic church and the Town Hall, to give rice and beans and oil to the victims. You would be surprised to see the crowd who was there with their identification card at hands to get food today in Lycee.
We praise God that, thanks to your kindness and generosity, we are able to provide services to the unfortunates. We continue to have new comers every new day and we continue to lend a helping hand to them and to those with specific needs, such as sending some of them to the D.R, to Cap Haitien, to Milot to see specialists.
The church board and myself want you to know that, as usual, we will be good stewards of your generous donations and that we will keep you informed of the evolution of that sad situation. In the meantime, allow me to tell you that we will continue to rely on your prayers, and that we will keep asking and looking for your goodwill and helping hand
Gratefully, as always, in His service,
- Pastor Andre
